The current destination is November 19, 2026, but GTA VI did not begin with that exact date. Its official schedule moved through three public targets: a 2025 window, May 2026 and the date now attached to launch. This timeline uses only announcements from Take-Two and Rockstar Games.
Rockstar first confirmed GTA VI on November 8, 2023. The company followed that confirmation with Trailer 1 on December 4, 2023, formally introducing the game to the public. A more detailed release schedule would arrive later.
Take-Two provided the first official target on May 16, 2024. At that point, GTA VI was projected to launch during 2025, with no month or day attached. It was the broadest of the three release plans.
Rockstar revised that window on May 2, 2025. The new target became May 2026, and the company said it needed additional time to polish the game. For the first time, the official schedule identified a particular month.
Trailer 2 premiered on May 6, 2025, four days after that delay announcement. This placed two major Rockstar updates within the same short stretch of the calendar. One established the revised launch window, while the other delivered the second official trailer.
A second schedule change followed on November 6, 2025. Rockstar moved GTA VI out of May and set November 19, 2026 as the new release date. Unlike the earlier targets, this announcement supplied a specific day.
The progression can be measured without speculation. Take-Two named a year in 2024, Rockstar named a month in May 2025, and Rockstar established an exact date in November 2025. Those are the three distinct versions of the official launch plan.
Pre-orders became the next concrete milestone on June 25, 2026, opening at midnight in each local time zone. The Standard Edition was listed from US$79.99, although regional and retailer pricing can differ. This moved the campaign from release planning into active reservations.
Rockstar added an Extended Look on August 27, 2026. It arrived after pre-orders opened and before the scheduled November launch. That places it among the final dated beats currently recorded in GTA VI's official rollout.
GTA VI remains scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No official PC release date has been announced, while Rockstar currently presents the game as a single-player experience without launch details for an online mode. Unless Rockstar or Take-Two issues another update, that is the complete official route from the original 2025 window to launch day.
