May 2025 delivered two very different GTA VI updates within four days. Rockstar moved the game to May 2026 on May 2, then released Trailer 2 on May 6. That compact sequence is easy to miss when every announcement is viewed on its own.
The schedule had already been carrying a broad 2025 target. Take-Two presented that window on May 16, 2024, without attaching a specific release day. By the following May, Rockstar was ready to say the plan needed more time.
The delay announcement came first. Rockstar said additional development time was required for polish and shifted GTA VI into May 2026. For fans who had followed the 2025 window, it was the clearest possible sign that the wait had changed.
Four days later, the public conversation changed again. Trailer 2 made its official debut on May 6, bringing a new Rockstar-produced presentation of the game immediately after the schedule update. The calendar news and the trailer therefore belong to the same short chapter of GTA VI history.
Our view at G6 World is that the timing mattered. Rockstar did not reverse the delay, but it gave fans something official to engage with before the disappointment could define the entire month. A new trailer cannot shorten a release schedule, although it can make that schedule feel less abstract.
The release date would eventually move once more. In November 2025, Rockstar shifted GTA VI from May to November 19, 2026. Trailer 2 stayed fixed in the record even as the timetable around the game continued to evolve.
That is why the four-day gap remains a worthwhile GTA VI detail. One week contained both a longer wait and a major piece of official material. Rockstar Games and Take-Two provide the dates; the contrast between them is what makes the sequence stand out.
