GTA 6 Reveals Six Radio Stations and On-Foot Podcasts

Jason and Lucia can access stations and on-demand shows through their smartphones

Rockstar Games has revealed six radio stations for GTA 6, covering genres including Latin music, country, pop, metal, rap, and African music. The game will also feature on-demand podcasts, a first for the Grand Theft Auto series. Jason and Lucia can access both radio stations and podcasts through their smartphones, even when they are outside a vehicle.

The ability to keep listening on foot removes a traditional limitation of GTA radio. Players will not need to be driving to continue hearing music, hosts, or spoken programs. Rockstar has not yet explained exactly how these smartphone controls will work.

The six revealed stations

Cocoteo FM will focus on modern Latin music and will be hosted by El Martillo and La Gata. Bad Bunny and Lana del Ray provide the voices for two DJs on the station. The source does not specify which character is played by each artist.

Back Country Radio will offer renegade country music hosted by DJs MW and Delta Dawne. Its programming will also feature regular updates from roving reporter Mud Dog Mike. The character is voiced by Jeremy Dufrene, Lana del Ray’s husband.

AfroBank FM will feature African music presented by DJs Burna and Palmsy. Its selection will include 20th-century classics and tracks described as undiscovered gems. The Chamber 106.6, meanwhile, will focus on heavy metal, combining classic and modern tracks curated by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom.

Flash FM will provide a selection of pop hits for players looking for easier listening. Robyn and Alex will host the station. Completing the six announced stations, Dirty South Classics will play regional rap and hip-hop classics presented by DJs Trick and Trina.

Radio beyond vehicles

Rockstar previously teased that GTA 6 would deliver the “next evolution of in-game radio, and more.” The station reveal begins to explain what that promise includes. Smartphone access and the addition of podcasts are the two concrete changes disclosed so far.

The podcasts represent a category of audio that has not previously appeared in the series in this form. They will be available on demand, allowing players to decide when to listen. Rockstar has not revealed their names, hosts, subjects, or episode lengths.

GTA 6’s music is also being promoted outside the game through a collaboration between Rockstar and Spotify. In addition to the radio stations, an album connected to the game will contain 34 songs written specifically for the project. Artists contributing new music include Keith Richards and Travis Scott.

What changes for players

In practical terms, the smartphone will allow the audio experience to continue when Jason or Lucia leaves a car. This expands radio access to periods of exploration on foot and lets players follow podcasts without finding another vehicle. The announcement does not clarify whether a program will continue automatically when moving between driving and walking.

The initial list also confirms that GTA 6 will preserve the range of genres associated with the franchise’s radio stations. The six stations cover distinct musical styles and have their own sets of hosts. Guest artists voicing DJs add recognizable talent to the lineup, although Rockstar has not disclosed the complete track list.

What remains unknown

Details are still missing about the podcasts, how players will select them, and whether new episodes can appear during the game. It is also unclear whether these six stations form the complete lineup or are only part of GTA 6’s radio selection. According to GameSpot, Rockstar said more podcast details are coming soon.
