Miami Heat to Wear GTA 6 Uniform Against Bucks

Game will feature a new court on the eve of release

The Miami Heat will wear a GTA 6-themed uniform for its game against the Milwaukee Bucks, according to IGN. The one-night event has been named A Night in Vice City. The home team will also play on a court that has never been shown before.

The game will take place on November 18 at the Kaseya Center, the home of the Miami Heat. Tipoff is scheduled for 7pm Eastern Time and 4pm Pacific Time. ESPN will broadcast the matchup live.

The date puts the event on the eve of GTA 6's planned November 19 launch. That makes the NBA game one of the final public activations before release. Its timing also connects the matchup directly to the countdown for the new GTA.

IGN describes the uniform as all-new and says the court has never been seen before. The report does not show or describe either design, however. Their colors, visual elements, and any specific references to GTA 6 remain unknown.

Crossover merchandise has also appeared on the Miami Heat store. According to the report, the collection celebrates Vice City, the fictional city associated with GTA. The source does not provide prices, available quantities, or an end date for sales.

The collaboration follows other GTA 6 campaign activity at the Kaseya Center. The top of the arena was illuminated to mark the partnership between Rockstar and Miami's home team. That activation followed negotiations with local officials over how extensively Rockstar could use Miami as a base for creative advertising.

The choice of the Miami Heat has a direct connection to the game's setting. GTA 6 takes place in Leonida, a fictional recreation of Florida that includes Vice City. The in-game city serves as a virtual recreation of Miami.

The Kaseya Center also has a counterpart within that fictional world. In GTA 6, the venue is known as the Sahara Arena, according to IGN. The themed game will therefore bring a real location closer to its fictional reinterpretation.

For players, the promotion does not change the reported release date or platforms. GTA 6 is set to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The basketball game takes place one day earlier, with no early access to GTA 6 mentioned by the source.

IGN reports that the standard edition of GTA 6 will cost $79.99. The Ultimate Edition, which includes additional in-game content, will cost $99.99. No digital benefit tied to the basketball game, uniform, or Miami Heat merchandise was announced in the report.

In practical terms, fans will be able to watch a Vice City celebration on ESPN before the game arrives. People at the Kaseya Center will also see the new uniform and court being used during the matchup. There is no indication yet that either design will return after the November 18 event.

It also remains unclear when the full uniform and court designs will be revealed or whether the team-issued apparel will be sold to the public. The financial terms and commercial structure of the collaboration were not detailed. IGN reported A Night in Vice City as a one-night event taking place on the eve of GTA 6's release.
