PureGym Suggests Finger Warm-Ups Before GTA 6

The fitness company shared three exercises to prepare hands and thumbs for long sessions with the game.

PureGym has introduced a three-exercise routine for players planning long sessions with GTA 6. The movements were prepared by personal trainer David Hope and focus on the fingers, thumbs, and hands. They are intended as a warm-up before picking up a controller.

The company’s reasoning is that hands remain active during an extended gaming session even when most of the body is barely moving. The exercises are not part of the game and do not change anything within GTA 6. They are simply an outside fitness suggestion tied to the upcoming launch.

The first movement involves tapping the thumb against each of the other fingers on the same hand. Players can move through the fingers in sequence without using any equipment. GameSpot also noted that the movement can serve as a mindfulness technique.

The second exercise begins with the hand open and the fingers spread apart. The next step is to close the hand into a fist while keeping the thumb on the outside. The drill therefore alternates between a fully open hand and a closed fist.

Hope’s third recommendation is a form of finger push-up. The instruction reproduced by GameSpot says to press the fingertips of both hands against the floor and push pressure into the fingers. Of the three exercises, this is the only one described as requiring direct contact with the floor.

PureGym advises completing each exercise 10 times. The company also suggests performing the movements after a long GTA 6 session, rather than limiting them to a pre-game warm-up. The routine is presented as a straightforward way to prepare the hands and thumbs.

“We warm up before a run or a gym session, so why not before a long gaming session?” Hope said. The trainer added that the thumbs and hands are doing the heavy lifting while the rest of the body is barely moving. His statement explains the reasoning behind PureGym’s routine.

The suggestion arrives just weeks before GTA 6 is scheduled to launch. The game is set for November 19, raising expectations of extended play sessions from its first day. PureGym’s routine is aimed at that period of preparation before the new Grand Theft Auto arrives.

For players expecting to spend several hours with the game, the routine offers an optional warm-up that requires no accessories. It does not affect GTA 6’s price, platforms, access, or release date. The report also provides no indication that the exercises are a Rockstar Games initiative.

GameSpot offered a more playful alternative as well: using a miniature finger skateboard. The suggestion was made humorously as another possible way to move the fingers before playing. It is not part of the official three-exercise sequence shared by PureGym.

The total time required to complete the routine has not been specified. The publication also offers no data about tests conducted specifically with players or a definition of how long a session must be to count as extended. Those limits make the routine a general suggestion rather than a requirement for playing GTA 6.

GameSpot published the full list and David Hope’s comments based on PureGym’s guidance. For fans entering the final stretch of the wait, it is a curious and practical preparation that can be completed before turning on a controller. The core recommendation is simple: three exercises, 10 repetitions each, and optional use before or after a long session.
