Your GTA 5 Could Wake Up Mods You Forgot

A ParkourV test required an update that reactivated old modifications during the stunts

Redação G6 World

Your modified GTA 5 installation could reactivate changes you had already forgotten. In a PC Gamer test, installing ParkourV required an update to ScriptHookVDotNet, a component used as a foundation for game mods. Afterward, keys pressed during the stunts began triggering old modifications that had appeared to stop working.

Parkour among forgotten mods

ParkourV added flips, rolls, and other ways to move through Los Santos. The writer even attempted a double frontflip, although the execution ended badly. According to the report, moving and rolling around the city remained fun despite the strange animations.

GTA 5 shows visible limitations when handling this kind of movement. PC Gamer says the three protagonists lack the articulation needed to perform the moves naturally. During flips, the lower body rotated while the head and chest remained rigid.

The update required for ParkourV also produced an unexpected consequence. Mods installed months earlier started responding when certain keys were pressed. A dating modification, for example, displayed approach options while the writer was beginning a flip from the top of a building.

The test also reached a section of the map that had disappeared for an unexplained reason. A double frontflip attempt took place in that area and ended in a collision with a man wearing an animal costume. The report leaves open which mod removed the section or whether the issue came from several modifications interacting.

An installation built up throughout the series

The experiment is part of a daily PC Gamer series that modifies GTA 5. Its stated goal is to turn the game into a kind of PC version of GTA 6 or break it in the process. ParkourV entered an installation already carrying an extensive history of abandoned or apparently broken mods.

For GTA 5 mod users, the test shows that updating a central dependency can change the behavior of old files that remain installed. The source describes one specific setup and does not establish that every ScriptHookVDotNet user will encounter the same issue. It also provides no procedure for disabling the reactivated mods or sorting out conflicting controls.

What remains unknown

PC Gamer did not state how many old mods started working again, which versions of ParkourV and ScriptHookVDotNet were used, or how stable the installation remained. The cause of the missing map section also remains unanswered. Those gaps prevent a firm conclusion about whether the chaos came from ParkourV, the dependency update, or the accumulated modifications.

The experiment indicates that ParkourV can bring acrobatics to Los Santos, although the animations produce unusual results. The writer's technique also remains a work in progress after the failed double frontflip. PC Gamer reported the full test and its unexpected effects.
