TornadoV Adds Giant Tornadoes to GTA 5

Mod lets players configure and summon twisters in Los Santos

A new mod called TornadoV adds giant tornadoes to the GTA 5 map. PC Gamer tested the modification on a copy of the game already burdened with several other mods. The twisters move through Los Santos amid explosions, collisions, and other forms of destruction.

TornadoV provides dedicated commands for controlling the phenomenon. According to PC Gamer, F5 opens the tornado settings, while F6 spawns one. The source does not detail every option available within the configuration menu.

During the test, the tornado was able to throw Franklin across the environment and disrupt the surrounding world. PC Gamer describes the twister as enormous, although it eventually blends into the chaos already caused by the other installed mods. The experience was presented as fun precisely because it makes each session more unpredictable.

The test is part of a series in which PC Gamer modifies GTA 5 every day. Its stated goal is to turn the game into something resembling a PC version of GTA 6 or break GTA 5 in the process. TornadoV arrived when this heavily modified installation was already experiencing technical problems.

Before the tornado mod was introduced, GTA 5 had stopped launching even in windowed mode, which had previously helped the game start. After several restarts and graphics adjustments, it only began working again after files were deleted without a described selection method. The source does not identify those files, so the episode does not provide a procedure that other players could safely reproduce.

For GTA 5 players on PC, the mod adds an environmental event that can be summoned directly during a session. There is one conflict in the particular setup used by PC Gamer: F6 was also assigned to noclip, which allowed movement through objects and around the map. With that collection of mods, using the command began summoning a tornado at the same time.

It remains unclear what requirements TornadoV has, how much control its settings provide, or how it behaves in a less heavily modified installation. The source also does not give a price, installation process, or alternative command for resolving the key conflict. What the test does demonstrate is the mod’s central function: sending huge tornadoes across Los Santos.

TornadoV joins an experiment that treats GTA 5 as a space for increasingly chaotic modifications. This time, the game returned to working order and gained twisters capable of adding even more destruction to its map. The test and observations about the mod were published by PC Gamer.
