Rockstar Tribunal Extended to November 18
Closing arguments will take place days before GTA 6 launches, but the ruling will come later.

The employment tribunal between the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain, or IWGB, and Rockstar Games has been extended into November. The case had been expected to conclude this Friday, but closing arguments are now scheduled for November 17 and 18. Those dates fall just days before GTA 6's release.
The new schedule
The extension will give lawyers for both sides more time to continue cross-examining current and former employees. The union is expected to finish questioning Rockstar leadership this week. The judge has also granted additional time for the company's legal team to question the fired workers.
The end of the arguments will not produce an immediate decision. According to Rock Paper Shotgun, both sides will have submitted their evidence and made their final arguments by November 18. The judge will then still need to decide whether Rockstar broke the law when it fired employees in late 2025.
Why the firings are being examined
The reason for the firings is at the center of the dispute. Rockstar says the workers committed gross misconduct. The fired employees argue that the company was trying to prevent staff from forming a union.
All the workers involved were members of a Discord server created to organize unionization efforts. Rockstar claims the server was not secure and that confidential information was being shared there. Lawyers for the IWGB dispute that account.
One element raised at the tribunal concerns information passing from the server to Rockstar's human resources department. According to the report, a junior employee provided information to HR director Charlie Kinloch for more than two and a half years. That allegedly included an update about union membership crossing the threshold required to seek legal recognition.
The report says the workers were fired less than two weeks after that membership update. This interval is part of the chronology being examined, but it is not a judicial conclusion about the reason for the firings. The judge will have to assess the evidence and arguments submitted by both sides.
In the year since the staff were dismissed, workers have organized the 10% of members needed to form a union. That development comes as the tribunal considers whether the 2025 firings resulted from misconduct or an attempt to stop unionization. Neither account has been established as fact by a final ruling.
What this changes for GTA 6 players
The revised schedule places the end of testimony and arguments close to GTA 6's launch. The source does not report any resulting change to the game's release date, platforms, price or access. For players, the confirmed effect concerns the context around the final launch period rather than the title's commercial plans.
The proximity of the two events also does not mean the case will be resolved before GTA 6 arrives. Only the closing arguments are scheduled for November 17 and 18. The judge's ruling will follow later, with no date provided.
What remains unknown
It remains unclear when the judge will issue a decision or which side's arguments will prevail. The tribunal has not concluded whether the late-2025 firings broke the law. Until a ruling is delivered, Rockstar's position and the workers' claims remain disputed accounts.
The extension through November 18 was reported by Rock Paper Shotgun based on information published by Chris Bratt. The outlet says the additional time will allow cross-examinations to continue before the closing arguments. The final outcome will remain unresolved even after that stage ends.
