GTA 5 Mod Opens Interiors but Deletes Parts of the Map

Open World Interiors unlocked businesses, but the test caused severe problems across Los Santos.

PC Gamer installed the Open World Interiors mod to make different GTA 5 businesses accessible from the inside. The experiment opened some spaces, but it also caused a significant portion of exterior Los Santos to disappear during the test. The result was split between new explorable environments and problems that compromised the map.

Open World Interiors is designed to create inhabitable interior areas inside businesses located across the game. According to PC Gamer, the mod's pitch includes restaurants, hospitals, and gyms. These locations are meant to become additional spaces that players can enter and explore around Los Santos.

The problems appeared as soon as the player left Franklin's house described in the report. A considerable section of the city had been inexplicably removed, leaving parts of the exterior broken. PC Gamer could not determine where those elements had gone or why they had disappeared.

Some interiors still worked during the experiment. After reaching a fast-food restaurant, the player could enter and find NPCs sitting inside while one of the game's radio stations played in the background. This showed that the mod could open certain businesses even as the rest of the city experienced serious problems.

The gym produced a different and more severe glitch. Every attempt to enter sent Franklin falling into a void beneath the world while the radio continued to play. After falling for some time, the character reappeared in front of the gym doors.

For players, the test indicates that Open World Interiors can add indoor areas to GTA 5, but the reported experience was not stable. Missing parts of the map and falls outside the environment could disrupt normal exploration of Los Santos. The source does not provide requirements, the version used, compatibility details, or any procedure that could prevent these problems.

It also remains unclear whether the missing exterior sections affect every installation or resulted from a specific conflict during the test. The available material offers no technical explanation and does not say whether the removed areas later returned. For now, the findings come from PC Gamer's experiment, which encountered functional interiors surrounded by severe map issues.
